Full Day

What a day! I want to blog about it before I hit the rack, so I don’t forget. It was so full of family and love. My parents came for a visit- they are moving back to Canada soon. Dylan was here, as was Joseph (who is almost a permanent fixture around here these days). My dad Jim showed off his tattoo that his cousin Cart (I think?) Hill did for him, and my mum spent most of the day doting on her grandson (of course). Even Mr. Panda got in on some skateboard action!

It was nice to have them here, and then our friend Blake joined us for dinner- although it was a bit poignant as Ryan wasn’t there, and I hadn’t had Blake over for dinner since he and Ryan broke up. So there was a little twinge of hurt- I miss Ryan, and it’s hard when you’re friends with BOTH people and then they aren’t hanging out anymore.

I made chicken parm for dinner, and oh dear lord it was perfect. I made something and it turned out exactly the way I imagined in my head, which let’s face it folks, there is often a fantasy world going on in there. So to have everything come together so perfectly…well, it was fucking sweet. I didn’t get photos because everyone DEVOURED it, which is really the best complement.

It was one of those days that make me wish my family lived closer, or something. Although I might tire of this every day, you know? But sometimes, I wish. I really miss my siblings. I hate that none of us talk anymore. C’est la vie, I suppose, but I do wish there was something I could do about it.

It was a good day. Full of love and laughter and a reminder of why I work as hard as I do.
