As far as his parents, we dealt with my very strict Catholic parents by never actually saying we lived together. They are not stupid, but it seemed ok with them that they never had to hear the words. And we got through it, got married and now – it is so insignificant.

You might be right- I am not very good at the marketing part! Then again, I don’t know if I ever want to give people room to judge me that much ever again…lol!

I have the same thoughts about people making millions on an idea that I already had in my head. But then, they are resourceful enough to market it in a way that makes them famous. So in some way they must be smarter than us, huh?

As for the book, I think we are fascinated with the idea of traveling somewhere to find answers. I enjoyed many aspects of the book (the movie left out some key points, so it was disappointing to me. And I didn't think Julia Roberts fit the part, either. I could have done better by keeping my $4 in my pocket). My pattern has been to run to new places to escape the reality of who I am. A change of scenery might change the things I don't like about myself. With two children keeping me very much in one place, I am being forced to take a closer look at those unpleasantries, and for their sake (if not for my own), "be the change that I want to see in the world". I will say that if nothing else comes of this book fad, it can't hurt for people to stop and re-examine their purpose and focus in life. And I love hearing other people's stories. Regardless of whether I agree with their interpretations.

Your story is fascinating too. Maybe you need a marketing manager ; )
